Gentlemen,
Check out Warner's robotics website. Warner has designed pic chips to do
the linear motion +- 32000 steps. It has ramping and everything you want
except restart after a feedhold. In other words, if you stop it during a
move, I do not think you can restart it at the point you stopped. For some
applications this would not be disastrous.
