Hi Carlos,
The TMS320LC2402 would be a better fit as it already has some useful
peripherals UART CTC SPI etc. My choice of the C5402 was driven by
already having the C compiler and emulators for it. If TI
comes out with an affordable DSK for it, I'll switch over for sure.
I'll look for some more info on it and see what the tools cost.
