Jon:
Thank you very much for spelling it out to me. The conclusion : I am
stupid :-)
But, I also appreciated the informative feedback from Ian. Thanks.
I looked at a picture of your "electrode" , Jon. You had made of
some wire, - so ....
The other thing I thought, was more like a welding rod. I thought
that the electrode would be shorter - so keeping Z in a fixed
position, while the electrode could be self adjusting - while you
run in a x or y direction.....
To JoLa:
Welcome ! I started out more or less with something similar in
mind, - but ended up with this wild HSM gang ! Now I just want to
apply EMC to any power tool I see. :-)
Beside that, I don't know any of the systems you mentioned. (
Hyperkernel, etc. )
Years ago, I had some knowledge about Delta Tau, and cards with
LM629, dedicated controllers..... but I am going to use a ServoToGo
card now. You could interface EMC to any card, - but then you have
to write most of the software. I am still in the process of putting
the pieces together, but they say it work very well. So why not use
it as it is - a software solution ? And why not Linux ?
To everyone else:
I would like to know how you have wired the STG board. It says it
is Opto22 compatible, and I read that someone mentioned that ( opto
isolators )
I can always make some sort of a cable, but I would like to have
some "screw" terminals. Any smart ideas ? Or is there something made
for this ? ( I looked at the opto22 site, but could not figure out
what to use )
//ARNE
PS: Nobody said anything about the length of lines to use. Is it
just my Netscape setup for the printer that is wrong ?
( I loose some words because of line wrapping - like message 1, from
David Howland, digest 119 - while most others
is okay )
