NAMES Show - Second Call

Greetings to all --

This is the second call for those who would like some space to display
projects, literature, or just talk to those with similar interests and meet
others with whom you may have been communicating -

To those who have already signed up - See my note at the end of this message -

The dates for the show are April 28 and 29 in the YACK ARENA in Wyandotte,
Michigan (Detroit area) - Setup day is Friday, April 27 - Parking is free
but the lots fill up early - General information at egl@... -

I've already got about 8 people who are displaying - There's room for more -
The NAMES group has even offered to provide us with free buttons so you
won't have to pay to get in - I am planning to be there on Thursday in the
motor home parking area and will have the free buttons there - Also the
motor home can serve as a place for bull-sessions if desired -

We should make an effort to have a good attendance because the NAMES group
is donating space that otherwise would cost $400 if it went to regular
vendors - (They have a long waiting list of vendors who want to pay for
space so we should make every effort to support this show)

If there are those of you who can't make the show but want to have something
displayed such as a notebook with photos, samples, or literature we can have
a table for that too -

Remember the general rules -- This is primarily an educational display - No
HARD SELL stuff - However, the soft sell is OK - In other words, if you make
contacts that eventually buy any products you may have that's all right but
keep it low key and keep it educational - The other thing that the NAMES
folks would like to emphasize is that you don't "take off" early on Sunday -
The show is open til 4:00 PM on Sunday and it's not fair to the people who
pay to get in on Sunday afternoon to be met with a bunch of empty spaces -

Contact me OFF LIST if you want to have some space to display in person or
send something for display (It will be returned but you will have to pay for
shipping)

I plan to again bring a Benchtop Mill/Drill but this time with my new Turner
CNC controller and also a new homemade (very low cost) DRO system installed
- I will be making chips this year and hope to have automatic G-Code
generating software running using INTELLICAD (or) FELIXCAD (or) AUTOCAD
(or maybe all 3) -

There will also be a two hour CNC seminar on Saturday - Let me know if you
want to make a presentation -

Note to those who have already signed up - The NAMES folks have asked me how
many electrical outlets and how much power we estimate needing so that they
can be ready and we don't have to run around at the last minute like last
year - Get back to me OFF LIST so I can advise them in advance -
