Had to do it anyway and might as well share the information.
At least for Gate products GT 3mm would seem to be the timing belt of choice
for small to medium stepper/servo drives
for cnc.
9mm width will have a tension of about 5 pounds and do 420
ok with a 1"+ pulley as I am told. It could see more in a crash but might
serve a secondary function of tooth slipping to absorb energy and save more
expensive parts.It would destroy the belt though.
I am getting the Gates design cd with my order (I hope) so
I will be able to do calculations easily in the future.
