Regardless what size or style of machine you go with, I strongly recommend
roller or ball bearings on the spindle. You would remove or disconnect the
threading box so the only thing that holds you back from spooling up the
speed would be the bearings. I tend to run my CNC lathe many more hours than
I originally intend. Anything that requires maint tends to need even more
when flogged by a CNC for long hours.
