Hi Mark,
Which rotary table do you have?
I have the new Sherline with CNC mount, it has 72:1 gearing, and with a
200 step motor running in 1/2 step mode, I get 28800 steps/rev. That's
80 steps per degree, or .0125 of a degree resolution! So for your 1"
dia gear, something like .0001091" per step. etc.
