The spindle on my mill only turned forward, but there was a reversing
switch in that little box and marking on the front for both directions. I
also saw that the motor says "class E reverse" so I put the reversing
jumpers on the switch. Now I can tap with it.

When I got home today, first thing I did was open the "switch panel"
which has the motor leads terminating in it. I clipped my meter on them and
ran through the power range.... 44V DC to 110VDC. Drive looks good.
