I think you will have to do some serious scrounging to find an adequate
power supply for $20 - $40. Last one I got that was ready to use was about
$80 and probably cost me $25 to have it shipped. Don't know what size motors
you are using, but the minimum power supply you can likely get away with is
a 10 amp unit and 15 amp or so would be better. I was running my Camtronics
controller on a 10 amp unit and ended up frying the transformer when I left
it turned on for a few hours without the motors running (I have the older
Camtronics controller that does not have the idle current reduction). You
may want to consider just making a power supply. It is not that difficult.
Just a transformer, bridge rectifier and a capacitor will get you going. You
should add a fuse for safety and a switch to turn it on for convenience. Dan
at Camtronics can get you al the parts you need at a pretty reasonable
price.
