I am not really familiar with the DOS software for FANUC that you mentioned
but am quite familiar with the FANUC family of CNC controllers. Actually you
don't need to use line numbers on them at all and I would think that FANUC
would have kept the same thread with any PC based software that they might
create.

As far as CncPRO goes, I find the G codes to be similar to the FANUC codes.
You can't "nest" subroutines as in the real FANUC but you can do subroutines,
both regular and parametric, and call up to 100 of them in a given program.
It also has variables that can be assigned to values to allow you to easily
change the size etc. of a part that has the same shape, etc.
