Dan
The stepper board kit and DeskNC has arrived OK, I am working this weekend, so I won't have much time on my hands until Tuesday, I installed DeskNC on this pentium 400 and had a quick look around it, It looks a nice little program, I tried to get it to run my Compucut files (PR format) but without success ( will it do this or will I have to convert these files to G code format) as I say I did not have much time to experiment with it.
If I can I want to get DeskNC to run the Compucut unipolar board, this would give me a chance to familiarise myself with DeskNC before I change over to the bipolar chopper board setup, and make the change a bit smoother, I know the Compucut port setting for XYZ is 888 The only other information that I have is
OUTPUTS active high and latched by STRB
D0 = AUXILIARY, D1 = RESET, D2 = X DIRECTION, D3 = X CLOCK,
D4 = Y DIRECTION, D5 = Y CLOCK, D6 =Z DIRECTION, D7 = Z CLOCK
INPUTS
Pulled to TTL high by typically 4k7 to 5v on external cicuit, Pulled low by normally open limit switches,
SELECT = Xhome, BUSY = Xaway, PE = Yhome, ACK = Yaway,
I have just printed the DeskNC text files out, I might get time to read these at work tonight.
Best Wishes
