We will have a Vector training session the afternoon of Thursday, the 26th of April. Set up for NAMES is on Friday so Thursday is the day.
I would like to go from 1-5pm, break for dinner, and then go again from 6-10 or so. That would be about 8 hours total, and those learning the program will have a lot of demonstration, plenty of chance for questions, and we should also have some time for individual problem part help. (Anything after 10, may be diluted with a suitable adult beverage.)
Cost: $150 per person. Our training area is set up for 12, but we can comfortably do 18, and if some folks are willing to share computers or bring laptops, can easily accommodate up to about 20-22. The room is ample, and has a high ceiling, so it will not be cramped.
My intention is that the class will cover turning, engraving and edge making activities, such as pocketing, drilling, contouring, slotting, etc. (tool path development and code generation) We will of course try to also cover the new features of Vector 9. I should have my Sherline with the rotary 4th axis on hand(Ahha controller), but the Shopbot may be sold, as it gets recycled every 3rd monthly class, and that is the week before.
We will need at least 4-5 minimum to have the class. Those attending, with an older version of Vector will be able to upgrade to version 9.0 for $75.
