Probably. The proof is in the pudding, so to speak. There
are so many variables in heat sink performance, that it is often
easier to test under real world conditions. If you can hold your
hand on the same piece of heat conductor metal as the heat
sink is made of (the same piece of sheet metal housing, in this
case) without it being too hot, then you have no problem.
You can hold your hand on something at 50 C, but it is a bit
uncomfortable. If the case is held to 50 C, the transistor junctions
are probably below 75 C or so, and should be OK. Mariss
may have a more detailed spec based on internal heat flow in
the Gecko module, but this rule of 'thumb' usually works quite
well.
