you could do the same thing with 2 roller lever microswitches and
a 25 tooth timing belt pulley as the encoder weel to get 100 states/
counts/rev and 100 detent positions/rev
add a little bit of code to read the bits on the game port in the
CNC programs jog mode and you have a jog handweel
