Hi,
I build 1/4 inch scale models of steam locomotives, mostly using brass,
working by myself at home. My shop includes a mill and lathe, among
other machines and tools. All machines are manually operated.
Since many of my models need custom investment cast parts, I thought of
using rapid prototyping technology to produce the patterns. To that end
I'm a novice user of AutoDesk Mechanical Desktop, and will outsource
the pattern production. Yes, I could do it in house but the cost and
time increments seem to have a negative payback.
Hopefully you won't mind if from time to time I bounce an idea off you
or ask a question about MDT.
If I'm on the wrong list, please let me know so as to save bandwidth.
Thanks
Rod Miller
