DROs and building encoder covers

I am about ready to start building a set of DROs for my Grizzly mini
mill and mini lathe using the US Digital linear strips and encoders.
Does anybody know of any links to good information on building them?
I saw a few pictures of Dan Mauch's aluminum scales and they look
great. I would like to see some more detail if possible before
starting on my project. If anybody has links, pictures, notes, etc.
I would greatly appreciate seeing them.
