Hello to the group.
My name is Mel and I have just spent some weeks going over the past
messages.
I am interested in home machining and to that end I have put together
a small shop in my garage. I am curently gathering the parts to build
a CNC router/mill/PCB drill. For the router I have bought three
stepper motors. The motors are PH266L-01B VEXTA 2-phase 1.8 degrees
per step 6V 1.2A. To drive the motors I am building the stepper board
plans at http://www.doc.ic.ac.uk/~ih/doc/stepper/control2/3axis/ .
After I have used the router to teach me something about CNC I would
like to convert my mill/drill to CNC. For the mill/drill X and Y
motors I have Oriental Motor PH299-01 3V 4A 1.8 degrees per step
stepper motor. I have not yet decided what to drive them with yet.
I have seen that others have been down the mill/drill conversion path
before me and would welcome any input that they care to share.
