Bridgeport clearly states in their manual that a STANDARD Bridgeport
Series-II machine weighs 4750 Lbs. Now, the problem is that
there are so many options. The CNC machines made by Bridgeport
usually have the control cabinet built right onto the back of the base
casting. The axis drives add weight, too. Different head and ram
configurations add more weight, etc. So, I'm not surprised that some
machines could add almost a ton additional to the stock weight.
The table must weight several hundred pounds per foot, so an extended
length table will add significantly to the weight.

It is also possible that that particular lift truck was not performing up
to rated capacity, as 6500 Lbs does sound a bit high for any Series-II
configuration.
