With unknown motors, it is best to assume they are not rated for high temperature operation. We ran some motors in test at the rated temperature, however I don't think it makes a lot of since to push them to their limits. 100 degree C exceeds the ratings for many of the components stepper motors may be made from. While some Neodymium magnets will operate to 120 degrees C, most Neodymium magnets are only rated to operate to 80 degrees C. Obviously the inside of a stepper motor is hotter than the motor case, that is why I suggust using some judgement when you can't be sure of what you have.

Some of the motors have a 100 degree C rating that's 212 degrees F. I don't
think they should be run that hot but you can't hang on to a motor past 130
or so?
