Donald, are these viruses supposedly coming to you on messages through
the list? Because there are no attachments on list messages - they
get stripped out. I suppose some macro code could be contained in the
body of a message, but not in an attachment.

I'm reading the list with unix software that understands none of these
extensions, and so should be dumping them to my screen as source or
unprintable characters, yet I'm seeing none of what you talk about.

Perhaps your computer is already infected somehow?
