I'm using three of those Bipolar L/R drives. On a Unimat (not that much
smaller than a Sherline) with 1mm pitch screws, surplus 50-70 ounce motors,
and 36 volts I get 325mm/min rapids with Cncpro. From what I've read about
feed rates on other machines with 20 TPI screws it seems that this old
design works pretty well, and a free space heater thrown in too ;).
