For those that might be interested, the latest StlWork 2 beta has waterline tool paths working correctly. Information is at : http//www.stlwork.com
Tomorrow is the last day to get the free upgrade at the old price.
We are looking at 3D modelers again, as part of the upgrade process.
Following is a list of the low cost ones that I know about, w / approximate retail pricing. Would appreciate feedback about any others that are available:
Rhino3d $795 Mcneel & Associates Version 2
Amapi $395 Eovia/TGS Version 6
Amorphium $249 Electric Image Pro version ?
Strata3D $149 Strata Plus version 3.5 a limited free version is also promised
Blender.nl Free
Minos Free
all above the name is the web site, except Minos is http://perso.wanadoo.fr/rleboite/minos.htm
Rhino, Amapi, Amorphium, and Strata Plus all have 3D conversion of graphics image to a height field type form, based on color or gray scale content.
Our criteria is that the program must save files in DXF, STL, or VRML to be usable with StlWork/StlTrans. There are some other formats too, but these 3 seem to cover most modelers.
Best Regards,
Fred Smith
