Hi Ballendo,

I continue to be amazed at your range of knowledge.
You seem very aquinted with wood and wood-based
materials. Tell us what you do not know?

Over here, one often get, for example an MDF tabletop
finished very nicely on top, but the bottom is left
unsealed and unvarnished. You know what happens when
water drips over the edge. The tabletop develope a
very nice punk hairstyle upsidedown. Have you seen
heavily (or even medium) laden bookshelf after a
couple of months. They sag because of creep.

"Of course, as always the size and use of the machine
need to be
considered; and a "blanket" statement about "a" being
BETTER than "b"
is doomed to failure, IMO..."

">I stick with graycast and mehanite, never liked the
aluminium Mickey-mouse toys....."

"Okay, to each his own. "

My vote goes to Ballendo. There is such a thing as
appropriate technology. Why drive a Ferrari when a
People's Wagon will do as well if not better. We
should tailor the equipment to the task and the
requirement and not just try to keep up with the Jones
(any on the list?)
