Peter, I didn't think it was offensive. Being Jonesed into
something is not really apparant from posts on the lists. It
would be a private embarrasement. I think a lot of people buy
stuff just so they can keep up with other people they want to
have ascendency over. But it is a very stupid attitude and I
doubt relevant to members of this list. The idea of "He who dies
with the most toys, wins" is not just stupid, it is unproductive
and certainly ignorant. We don't have those types on this list
so far as I know so you don't need to apologize.

More properly, the only people who must be Jonesed into getting
something are those commercial people who must compete for market
share. We all understand that. It is this type of technology
adjustment that keeps the *state of the art* moving.
