INcidently....if your going to machine the dovetails from "scratch" making
separate pieces isn't necessary. All you need to do is some astute, yet
simple calculations and you can machine the dovetails to fit perfectly right
from the beginning. The calculations required are shown, complete with
diagram and formulas in the Machinery Handbook.
