Nema 34 tepper to C 42 Servo motor mount

I have had several inquires about using a C42 frame servo motor in place
of nema 34 stepper motors where the drivers were changed to servos. A
C42 frame motor is 4" diameter with a 3.250 DBC 4 bolt pattern. A nema
34 motor mount also uses a 4 bolt pattern but uses a 3.875 DBC. So I
machined a 3/8 thick adapter plate that adapts the C42 to an existing
nema 34 mount. What I would like is an opinion on is whether or not the
holes for the C42 should be slotted so that the motor could be adjusted
to take up any adjustments for the belts. Because of the diameter of the
C42 motor (ie 4" and the 3.875 DBC on the nem34 holes they cannot be
slotted. On all of my installations the existing nema 34 mounts were
already slotted for belt tensioning adjustment thus slotting the holes
for the C42 motor would be a waste of machining time. I was planning to
make a batch of them without slotting the holes. Opinions?
