Jon E.,

Well, I guess I'll give it a try. I'm a little worried about running out of
travel during tuning when using your method. What do you think about using
a square wave with someone there to adjust the DC offset so the carriage
stays centered on the bed during testing? The servos that I'm accustomed to
tuning were not in the full horsepower plus range, and I'd hate to hit a
hard stop and kill something. The rapid is probably only 200 ipm or so, but
that looks pretty fast on a six inch X and maybe a eighteen or twenty inch
Z. I guess I'm just a little nervous getting into a twenty plus year old
system trying to make things better, not worse. Electronics didn't seem
quite as durable back then.

Thanks,

Ward M.
