Tool diameter compensation

If I'm asking too many questions, someone kick me in the ankle.

Is there any way of making the tool diameter compensation work in the XZ
plane?

Has anyone made (created) some kind of widget to change the offset for a
tool from the Tkemc screen? I need to do this on a regular basis and don't
want to edit files if I can help it. If not, does anyone have something I
could use as a read/write to a file example to make it myself.
