Go to http://www.ktmarketing.com/CNC.html and select the link titled "EMC
Installation Instructions compiled from many sources " (15th from the top).

Do a "Workstation" installation of Linux 5.2 on a system with a single IDE
hard drive and no partitions on the drive (This means no dual boot to DOS,
Windows, or anything). Make sure that the video card you are using will
allow you to configure X-windows to at least 800 x 600 with 1024 x 768 being
better and that you are using an Intel Pentium or Pentium Pro or Pentium II
or III or an AMD K6. Don't use a Cyrix as there have been a number of
compilation issues with them. Then, follow the directions on the page and
run the patch script. When people have followed these directions explicitly
(no creativity) the success rate seems to be 100% to get you a working RT
Linux kernel.
