I've not tried RH 6.0, but I started out with SuSe 6.1 wich installs with the
2.2.7 kernel. I downgraded to 2.0.36 and patched release9J without trouble,
but I just could not get an error free compile. I was given RH 5.2 that came
free on a PC magazine cover and installed it on a seperate partition - the RT
patch will not work with this 2.0.36 kernel, yet it will compile the SuSe one
with zero errors. RH will also compile EMC - with quite a list of warnings
about defined but unsed parameters - SuSe generates a fatal error at the end, I
think it has something to do with the Tcl/Tck version installed, but then I
have not worried too much about it since I can always boot up the RH drive if I
need to recompile.
Regards, Paul.
