Hi, well 3/4 plate is HEAVY, perhaps a piece of alum. as for the indicator i
say it's the operators choice. Checking the instrument you work with against
known good reference(joe-block) at several different distances. both can do
the job if you know how good the instrument is and use care. cul brian f.
