The magic word here is Thinkpad. ( Voice of experience )
For some reason, CNCPro will ONLY work with the Thinkpad parallel port
set to UNIDIRECTIONAL.
First, locate a program named PS2.EXE You REQUIRE this program. It was
shipped with the machine, and is usually in a directory named THINKPAD.
If it's not there, you can downlaod it from the IBM website as part if the
"DOS Tools" package for your machine.
The PS2 program allows you to configure just about everything you can think
of with your Thinkpad .. things that are normally set up in the BIOS. Power
management, COM Port setup, Video setup, passwords, etc. AND parallel port.
The command
PS2 ? PAR
will give the current settings for the port. Bet you find the port set to
something other than UNI.
The command you need to use is ( IIRC )
PS2 PAR MO UNI
followed by a reboot.
