FWIW, I ran Fred's test program on my Dynapath Delta 20 controller
with Intel 186 chip at F25.

201 seconds using buffered input. The program file is big enough it
wouldn't fit into memory, with existing programs in memory I only had
20K available.

The buffered input comes in through the rs232 connection, not sure if
this slowed things down since there were no apparent pauses.

BTW, on my first run the control coughed at line N100000. Too large
a numerical value. I renumbered and ran again.
