The best way to boot into DOS:
1) Change the attributes of MSDOS.SYS file which resides in root directory
so that it is NOT hidden NOT system and NOT READ ONLY.
2) Use your favorite text editor to add the following lines to the
[Options]section:
BootMenu=1
BootMenuDefault=1
BootMenuDelay=10
The first line turns on the boot menu at the startup
The second line sets the default option to Normal (you may put here the
value which points to Command Prompt Safe Mode (which bypases the
AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS if you need the TSR clean boot) or Command
Prompt (if you need some of your TSR's to be loaded)
The third line sets the time delay for how long the Boot Menu will wait for
you to manualy choose the desired option before it boots thew computer to
the mode pointed in the BootMenuBefault line.
3) set back the attributes of MSDOS.SYS and reboot your computer.

Subject: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] booting into DOS
Hi all:
Can any of you help me with a small boot problem?
I need a Windows 95 machine to boot up into DOS instead of Windows 95.
Do I edit a line in autoexec.bat or command.com? or maybe win.ini?
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Marcus
