In addition to the plans for the CNC Sinker EDM machine I am now
carrying plans for an awesome CNC Wire EDM machine. You can see pictures
at http://www.ktmarketing.com/CNC.html and a short video clip.
The WEDM electronics uses my 2A 3 axis driver kit, a couple 60 oz in
stepper motors, a PWM output power supply rated at 336 watts. With the
duration time of .00125 seconds the power is 680 watts. The controls
include the power supply for the spark, the feedback circuit the PWM
circuit wire speed control circuit and vibration inducer circuits. There
are detailed calculations of the various operating parameters, beautiful
detailed mechanical and electronic drawings, assembly drawings, parts
sources, photographs, and comes with software to control the XY
operation of the WEDM and senses via the feedback circuit to retract the
wire along its path. This is a mother load of great technical
information for the advanced hobbyist/home shop wanting to have a before
unattainable system capable of easily cutting the hardest of material
like tungsten carbide. As far as I know this is the first time plans
have been available to build such a sophisticated Wire EDM machine. See
my web site at www.seanet.com/~dmauch for pricing.
