I have already gotten the plans from Dan and they are great. Have not
had a chance to really look through them close and was waiting to say
very much until I had. I did read over the section in the beginning that
talks about design philosophy and it does touch on electrolyte. If I
remember correctly the unit is designed around using a low grade oil not
water. Now to stretch my recollection of a brief glance I think cooking
oil was discussed. Don't remember if it said that was the thing to use??
The plan set is very very good. I really want to get into it deeper. The
drawings are clear and much of the book covers the why and how, not just
a set of instructions that give no understanding of what you are really
trying to achieve. The plans also cover a lot of basics regarding
construction. They don't assume that you already are a mechanical and
electrical wiz.
