The Galil DMC programming language has commands for setting the acceleration
and deceleration for each individual axis. The commands are:

AC x,y,z,w

DC x,y,z,w

where x,y,z,w are the arguments for each axis in encoder counts/second**2.

Somewhere in your configuration files you will find a parameter table that
initiates these values. They may have been burned to the EEPROM but you
should be able to override them to determine what works best for your
machine. Then you can update the EEPROM accordingly.

Simply reducing the values should cure your problem. Your documentation
should have instructions on how to do this for your particular software.
