Help with Bandit control

I have a Bridgeport with a 2 axis Bandit control, and I am having a
hard time figuring out how it's supposed to work. The interface is
prehistoric, and the motors give a constant high pitch whine.
Jog is working but only at a max of about 15 ipm. I also got some
kind of home function to work at about 80 to 100 ipm, but it is not
intuitive to me.
Can anyone help with information or directions for this old Dana
control? Is it normal to make that noise? It is a unipolar stepper
drive.
I think I'm going to sell it for spares and put my own newer drives
and control on board.
