It is possible to buy, or build your own encoder disc/detector with
the same number of positions per revolution as no. of steps per rev.
Comparing the two is straightforward to do in software. Sne d a step
pulse. Check to see if motor stepped. If not, try both again. After a
certain number of failed trys, call operator to see what the problem
might be.
