I can't completely vouch for the BDI, although I have run it some for testing.
I have a Red Hat 5.2 system that I have installed the 20-Dec-1999 version
of EMC. It has only locked up once in about 18 months! Even then, it
continued
to the end of the G-code program, I just lost keyboard and mouse control,
and the screen stopped updating. I am still running this version of OS and
EMC because I can't stand unreliability, either.

I am using the original STG card on my system. Unless there is a wierd
quirk in either the STG-II card or the driver for it, I would not expect
trouble
there.
