What about DR-DOS? I understand that it is now a "free" OS for noncommercial
applications. The last time I looked, it was a pretty decent emulation of
MS-DOS. Then, there's also Novell DOS-7 which, at one time, had a
multitasker included with it. Too bad that these OS's lost out to the
Windoze Phenomenon. They were a lot more tightly coded, worked, and ran
Windows 3.11 with no problems despite MicroSoft's attempts to persuade
otherwise.
