Thanks a gazillion to all the help with my laundry list of emc
questions but most of all thanks to ray. without the idiot proof
advice and files i would be dead.
Some last clean up questions but first a progress report:
after installing the rpm's emc is perfectly stable, I have installed
ray's tkemcx interface and it is awesome, my ini file is all ready
for the fourth axis.
But now, how do I point emc to the parallel port pins for the step
and direction for the fourth axis. I have the 2nd parallel port, on
278 adress, in and properly configured but I dont know the pinout or
how to modify the appropriate file to "aim " it correctly.
I am still getting the "following error" at very high step rates (
above ~ 8 revs per second at 400 steps per rev) I originally thought
it was due to simply being at the max digital output of the port but
I doubt that now because I can get 10 revs/sec if the axis is going
in the negative without problem but in the positive direction it will
error out at ~8 steps/sec.
Thanks again
