CNC Shaper ??

I have contemplated doing this also. The reason is that with a proper rotary head or arbor mounted to the table it would be relatively easy to cut true involute gears and splines with a simple vee shaped tool ground to the pressure angle you need.
Also, it would take the drudgery out of making custom heat sinks from solid stock ;).
