I am not sure what you mean by "inexpensive".
I happen to have at my shop a demo unit of a 4 axis controller
that can take encoder feed back for steppers up to 5amp.could be
revised to 10amp!
This is a really cool unit. Self contained,pwr,drivers,software 32meg
on board memory.
The manf. sent me this unit several months ago to evaluate and I
haven't as yet done so. I hope to get to it in Dec.
I don't sell them,have any financial interest etc etc.
