thanks, I found it. I'm seeing something... that my linear shafts that i
bought from mcmaster-carr will fit down the inside dia of standard shedule
40 pipe... with a little press fitting, tie on some elbows, pipe nipples, a
flange bolted to a plywood base, and i've got a pretty rigid and very cheap
base! the weight of the pipe makes it non-usable for the carraidge of the
machine (whatever you call it).. but perhaps aluminum schedule 40 or 80 pipe
would work for that?
now how about attaching nema23 motors... hmm... a plate with a cut hole to
the outer diameter of the pipe, retained by a pipe nut, and dual motors
running the y axis... basically put the lead screw directly over the linear
shaft, on an aluminum plate, perhaps tieing into the leg of the machine with
a u-bolt with long enough legs?
