Felix, FYI, bearing grease
I noticed myself that the shaft was hard to turn, maybe this is the reason.
About those 635 oz-in motors:
I contacted Pac Sci about these, as they bought Sigma, and their
concern was the age of the motors. These are 10 or 12 years old, and
the guy was concerned that the bearing grease might have dried up.
They would not re-lube them, as the motors are discontinued, they
would not even re-magnetize the internals if someone took them apart
to re-lube. I guess taking steppers apart is a no-no in the first
place, right?
But if these beasties work, it would be a prett good deal. Pays yer
money and takes yer chances.
Tom.
