Hello List,
Well, after a long time and nice summer weather, I have finally
finished the modelling for the GEM500 (as far as necessary). There
are 2 files in a folder called GEM500 Model. The GEM500 Mill
Model.zip file is a .SAT 5.0 format solid model of the machine as
bought, with NEMA34 (720oz/in on X,Y)(1053oz/in on Z)motors installed.
The 5 axis trunnion.zip file is also .SAT 5.0 format solids. This is
designed to work as a 4th axis, or 5 axis modular accessory on the
GEM500. The motors are also 720's for the rotary systems. Thanks to
Boston Gear for the models of the Worm and Worm Gear used.
Hopefully those who like this machine can find other sources so we
can build a community of users.
