Just thought I'd mention that I now run Master5 on an EPOX 8KTA3
motherboard, CPU is not really important as long as it's not a K6. I use an
Athlon 1.3Ghz but have used a Celeron 400Mhz. Video Card is an old Diamond
Viper 770, but almost any OpenGL video card will work great. Really, most of
the systems having Master5 trouble have been rather old ones, I haven't had
many problems with new systems that don't get solved simply by reloading
windows or updateing a video driver. Unfortunately, Master5 is rather a
motherboard hog and does things that some of the older motherboards tend not
to like. Hopefully, Master6 will have no such problems. (That is if NT stops
fighting me so much when I play with its IDT and service tables). Memory
usage seems to be the biggest problem, so the next version will use
Application memory instead of Ring0 memory to try to smooth the transitions
more. I'm going to great lengths to ensure the next version works on any
machine. (if such a thing is possible.).
