Hi Peter,

The DB connectors ARE non symmetrical! Tip: Use a felt marker to mark
pin 1's location. If you examine them closely, you'll see the pin
numbers molded into the insulators. Typically both sides.

Male and female connectors are mirror image to each other, as you might
have noticed. I don't try to remember WHERE pin 1 is. When wiring a
connector, I refer to my mark, and wire the connector. A LOT easier if
you are using removable pins! Get one wrong, just use the removal tool,
and re-install correctly.

I've mentioned earlier, you CAN solder wires into removable pins, not
quite as good a the gas-tight connections you can get from using the
proper crimp tool. Mariss made several good recommendations on the
process.

Again, JUST read the pin numbers! If the connector doesn't have any,
it's probably TOO CHEAP, and you don't want to use it anyway!
