Who needs transformers? I'm putting a system together and my intention is
to use a computer PSU to power the stepper drives. 5V at 20A, 12V @ 10A and
a few other voltages as well. As it's a switched mode supply, there's no
heavy transformer, not a vast amount of heat and it's regulated.

I do, however, have a question which SKS may be able to answer. I read
somewhere that these PSUs don't like being run off-load - as one might do
before the system is complete. Any experience out there?
